Incoming Sales Tax

Furvilla is in the process of implementing a FurCash sales tax for the user shops. When a player sells an item to another player for FurCash, a sales tax of 5% will be removed from the purchase price, and the remainder will be deposited into the shop till as normal. The goal of this addition is to help sink small amounts of FurCash and ensure the strength of the currency. When calculating the tax, it will be 5% of the total, rounded down, with a minimum of 1 FurCash.
This change will be implemented in forty-eight hours or at 2:00 AM Furvilla Time on August 17th, so please be sure to alter your item prices if desired before that deadline.
In addition, the Moth Morphing Potion has been released into Olde Foxbury, and three new species colors are released -- Culpeo Fox, Long Eared Owl, and Osprey Raptor. We have also completed construction of the Trades page, which allows players to trade villagers, items, and currency freely. The link to the Trades page is located on the Town Hall.
You should've started with 3% sales tax to start.
sleuth dorumon210 Thank you for the comment and support! I have gone and sent all of the suggestions to the Furvilla staff. We shall see if they like any of them!
I understand the reason for the tax but for how little players we have, isn't that a little high? We already make so little an amount from the market and the gameplay, in general, all this will do, from what I can tell from the comments, is make people less likely to buy and sell using the market. For those like me who wish to stick using it, it might cut down competition but it might also cut down sales, which is concerning at this early point in the games development.
I like new species colors. But since I'm going to be even more poor now I don't know if I'll have a chance to use them. >.>'
To everyone saying taxes will push people to not sell so low:
How? They're selling that low at a loss already. How is 5% more loss going to all of a sudden make them go hmm I don't want to lose money.
Like I'm not trying to be rude I just legit do not see it.
Mmm.. This is nice in SOME cases, the factor of seeing 1FD being valued at 50kFC when people are complaining about not being able to make money is face slapping. At the same time created items that should sell for quite a bit... aren't. Some control needs to be set up but at the same time, with certain created items never even being in the shop, I can see why ingredients are still valued higher
Seems more like they are trying to take a page from Gaiaonline or one of the other games that have Auction houses. However they haven't quite grasped that their game is already in dire need of Inflation not deflation. If you are going to have a sales tax, you need to make other things more valuable. Right now I sell most everything at base price, artisan items are usually sold below the base price of the ingredients meaning over all I am LOSING money on selling items. Now you want to further that gap?
sounds like its not worth selling things here anymore then since im already barely making more than the sell back price.
if your going to make a tax don't have it so high considering the game. also there should be no tax on FD considering it is a 'premium' item.
I personally think that if you want more cashsinks then how about something like a grab bag where you thrown in FD FC or items and you get something(or on the rare occasion) nothing. that way we have a place to toss things and it acts like a sink. or have a donation box where everyone throws in items or cash and everyone else can pick something up but only once an jour or something
Culpeo Fox! Nice!! I love them (They are really common over here). I hope they add a Darwin's fox.
...Taxes?? Welp, time to stop using it. I never sell anything in my stall anyway.
