His origins shrouded in mystery, Chrona one day appeared in Ryû. Only the oldest of villagers recall seeing him in form of a gryphon. Nobody has ever heard him speak, and he seems to vanish and reappear at will. His face is usually hidden in cloth, adding to the mystique, and subsequently his gender isn't actually determined, as he communicates in archaic writing only. However, he seems to have adopted male pronouns being used for him. At least nobody's ever heard him complain...

Although other villagers were wary of him, they took note of Kijame's faith in him and subsequently trust him to be an ally, though some of them are still keeping their eyes out for any sign of trouble around him. Chrona doesn't care either way and goes about his business without the need of justifying any of his actions to anybody. He only answers Kijame's summons and keeps to himself otherwise.

Exploration
As explorer he roams areas near and far to locate resources and intercept enemies, or so Chrona claims. What exactly he does is anyone else's guess, but he seems to be carrying out his missions in a satisfactory manner as far as village leader Kijame is concerned. Younger and especially female villagers find his silent stoicness cool, but the adult, male populace seems rather annoyed by it.

Herbalism
Since he's usually out and about, Chrona comes across a variety of plants – foreign and familiar – that he cultivates at his leisure. Some say he is particular fond of poisonous and toxic plants, but that's probably just hearsay...

Alchemy
Due to his herbalist tendencies, it lies near that Chrona would experiment in alchemizing ingredients drawn from the plants he grew. He makes many a potion with a variety of effects, but he seems to be picky about whose requests he'll fulfill. Whether he has a keen intuition or is just whimsical, he seems to know when it is for the better to send the customer home empty-handed.
