Explorer
Explorer is classified as a Newbie career, because all new players should start here. It is essential for providing raw materials to Herbalists, Construction Workers, Blacksmiths, Tailors, Crafters, and Cooks. Each individual villager can explore 20 times an hour, unless they are wearing one of four Costumes granting +5 turns or have eaten a Dragonsmaw Pie, which can apply a random costume buff.
Outfits and Keepsakes can provide extra turns if they are Buffed for this career. Each villager can equip up to 6 of each.
If your Inventory is full, you are not able to Explore.
Each villager's Explorations Left resets at :00 of every hour.
You could use an Eye Spy Jawbreaker on your Active Villager to restore 2 turns immediately.
Your villager always finds between 5-10 FC and 1-4 items with each Exploration.
If you use a Snow Festival Frozen Leaf Fairy, you get one extra item for the next ten turns. Using a Golden Buff Dust grants 20% more FC while exploring for 24 hours.
The items can be Costume Materials, Equipment Materials, Mechanical Materials, Seeds, Wood, or Steel. The specific items you find depends on your Village:
Costume Materials | Equipment Materials | Mechanical Materials | Seeds | Wood | Plantimal Seeds listed Jan-Dec | |
Dragonsmaw Manor | ||||||
Oceandome | ||||||

Starting in August 2020, Plantimal Seeds were moved to the Cottage Shoppe and no longer found by explorers.
Steel, Bashful Blossoms, Emerald Feather, Sparkly Sprinkles, Earthen Slab, Vial of Pink, and Shed Antler are available in all Villages.
Your villager can run into events while exploring:
Interactive events with village-specific locations, Wheels, Cards, and various NPCs are offered year-round. They have a variety of effects including taking away the rest of your turns, granting you extra FC, granting you extra turns, restoring all of your turns, granting you items, and doing nothing.
The Gemstone Cave is an event that can grant you a Gem Raptor Morphing Potion.
A Gem Raptor Morphing Potion allows you to transform a villager into a gem raptor, a species found only through the Explorer career.
There are also limited time explorer events that are standalone or correspond with other events on site.
Check this thread for a developing guide with details on the events and their outcomes.

During Tigereye Peak's Snow Festival spanning Dec 14-29, 2016, Explorers from all villages had the chance to find snow fairies while exploring.
Fairies were obtained from the Explorer and Warrior careers. The chance of finding them began with a 20% drop rate, decreasing by 1% with every fairy found to a 1% drop rate. This reset at the beginning of the next day.
Snow Festival 2017 introduced two new fairies: Plush and Feast. The Candle Fairy did not drop this year. The chance of finding fairies was changed to reset every even hour.

Snow Festival 2019 saw the disappearance of the Candle Fairy again. What will next year bring?
